Abigail Buys | Kinderkineticist

Teacher Abby joins Teacher Liv as our Assistant Teacher and Kinderkinetics Specialist. She holds a BSc in Sport Science and an Honours degree in Kinderkinetics (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University, so her training is in how little ones learn to move.

Teacher Abby brings movement play into our mornings, from crawling and climbing to balancing and coordination, and adapts activities to suit each little one, whether they're six months old or nearly three. Nannies are right there alongside, picking up games to keep going at home.

Who We Are

The Play Studio is a welcoming space where little ones aged 6 months to 3 years can play, explore and discover the world around them. Through purposeful play, sensory experiences and opportunities to connect with others, we hope to create a beautiful environment for little ones to learn, grow and build confidence at their own pace.

Our morning sessions run during school terms, starting 13 January 2027, from 9:00am to 11:00am. Children attend alongside their nanny, who remains responsible for their care, while they enjoy a morning filled with play, discovery and connection.

Our Ethos

At the heart of The Play Studio is a Christian ethos, with a desire to nurture little ones with love, kindness and joy as they grow in confidence, curiosity and character.

While our values are rooted in the Christian faith, The Play Studio is a place for everyone. Families of all faiths, beliefs, cultures and backgrounds are warmly welcomed and valued. Our hope is to create an inclusive, joyful environment where every little one feels loved and safe, and has the freedom to explore, learn and grow into all they were created to be.

A Morning at The Play Studio

Each morning follows a gentle rhythm, with a combination of songs, stories, sensory activities, guided play and plenty of time to explore. Children are encouraged to move between structured activities and free play, allowing them to engage at their own pace while developing new skills. Every session is thoughtfully planned to be stimulating, social and, most importantly, fun.

Learning Through Play

At The Play Studio, play is at the heart of everything we do. Through textures, movement, music, creative activities and imaginative play, little ones are given opportunities to develop their senses, confidence, communication and social skills. We want every child to leave feeling happy, curious and excited to come back and explore something new.

Empowering Nannies

Our sessions give nannies practical ideas, activities and skills they can take into everyday life, helping them feel more confident in how they engage, play and connect with the little ones in their care. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to meet other nannies, build friendships and become part of a supportive local community.
